This is an excellent opportunity for applied marine scientists to work on some of the most complex and challenging conservation issues currently facing New Zealand.

In this role, you will provide scientific and technical advice across a range of coastal and marine resource management issues and deliver conservation management to help achieve the goals and objectives of Te Mano o Te Taiao — the Aotearoa New Zealand Biodiversity strategy.

A particular focus of the role will be to influence and advise on the development of open ocean aquaculture. The position is permanent and ideally based in Wellington, however we will consider alternative locations in New Zealand.

To be successful in this position, you will have a passion for the conservation and sustainable management of the marine environment and have proven skills in applying your technical and scientific expertise to resolve complex marine management issues.
