The required internship provides you with practical learning experiences in your chosen field of specialization. In this class, you will work with "real world" data, with mentorship from a faculty member, in organizations such as a city government agencies, a not-for-profit, or a policy think tank. You will receive practical training focused on the kinds of issues that researchers face in collecting and analyzing data as well as reporting out to relevant stakeholders. Find an Internship or Research Experience

Interns will work on one major project throughout the summer to be negotiated between the intern and the Center mentor and will participate with Center staff on multiple ongoing projects. The intern will have the opportunity to attend meetings and interact with numerous state assessment personnel. The intern must have completed at least two years of doctoral course work in educational measurement, curriculum studies, statistics, research methods, or a related field.

Interns with documented previous research experience are preferred. Further, interns must document their ability to work independently to complete a long-term project. Specific qualifications are posted each year.

The internship duration is eight weeks and will be conducted remotely. If conditions change dramatically before June, there may be opportunities for onsite work at our offices in Dover, NH. The Center will provide a stipend as well as a housing allowance and reasonable relocation expenses if applicable.

Internships are offered by our international alumni, by multi-national corporations, by world-leading NGOs, by cutting-edge research institutions and many other organisations, and all are exclusively available to Oxford University students. The Summer Internship Programme also offers the chance to explore work experience options in a variety of sectors in the UK. The programme is open to all current, matriculated Oxford University students both undergraduates and postgraduates , including those in their final year of study. Visiting students are not eligible to apply.

For the season Los Alamos National Laboratory will continue to support a robust student internship program. This summer we expect to host over 1, student and post-graduate interns. Given the lingering constraints applied to onsite operations currently allowed at LANL, our Summer students will be engaged in a combination of onsite, virtual, and hybrid internship experiences working on projects supporting our national security science mission. The work locations for student assignments this season will depend upon the nature of the work, its importance, the essential nature of the onsite access, and the viability of performing the work remotely. Students will work closely with their mentors and managers to work out the details of their work assignment location. All Rights Reserved.

Internships are based on availability and employer needs, so at no time is an internship a guarantee. However, the Department of Statistics will continue to work with students within our program to help obtain internships while developing the student's statistical knowledge to help further them along. Degree program advisors will be able to further assist you with the the process of obtaining available internships and registering for the appropriate internship course and credit hours.
