Then furloughed again for 6 months. Got called back for 2 months and furloughed again for 6 ect. At this current time I've been with the company little over 3 years. I only have been able to work the job 16 months of that time. I held out hoping my seniority would grow enough to hold a job but it hasn't.

Trying to find a way to make it work for me and my family. I have received nothing but "I don't care" and "You can forfeit your seniority" from management. They truly do not care for the people. Then on call schedule is terrible on your quality of life. Other TYE poeple are great to work with and alot of fun. Over all moral for them though is low. The unions seem powerless and make you wonder why your paying into them. Only bright side is now trade jobs in are offering competitive wages and benefits.

So I'm leaving the railroad behind soon. Pros TYE crafts are full of great people. They don't care about employees or the customer. Management doesn't care about you or your family. The pay and benefits are decent. The company makes more money every year and continue to steal money from there employees.

A constantly changing schedule of days off and forced overtime never let you plan anything for family time. Company rules that foster fear of an investigation and discipline. Don't do it! Working for the BNSF used to be good. Currently the BNSF hates it's employees. The BNSF fights the unions for cost of living increases, better vacation, shift differentials, sick days, better training, or anything else that would cost the company money.

The BNSF is waaaay behind on its benefits. For example, no sick days ever, no days off for sick kids or dieing parents. No vacation on your first year, 5 days on your 2nd year, 10 days of vacation on your 3rd through 7th years. Plus the company tells you that you must use 2 days of vacation a month starting in January. Who wants to take vacation in January? The medical isn't as good as it sounds. The unions are weak and really can't stand up against the BNSF. The company actively tries to pit its employees against each other causing work place stress.

I struggle to find anything positive to say. Don't take a job at the BNSF!
