All Law Centres offer face-to-face legal advice to local residents, and some run a telephone advice line. Some Law Centres also provide advice to community groups on issues such as legal structure and governance.

Where can I get more information or advice?

If you would like a supply of our current leaflets about benefits for disabled people, older people and full-time carers, please contact us. We can offer some casework help. We particularly aim to help disabled people and full-time carers. Help is also available from one of the advice agencies in Bristol. For more information see the ACFA website. Helpline 35 Open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings, 9am to 1pm.

Access to Work is a discretionary grant scheme that provides personalised support to disabled people who are:. There have been changes to Access to Work due to the coronavirus outbreak. This defines disability as 'a physical or mental impairment which has a substantial and long-term adverse effect on [your] ability to carry out normal day-to-day activities'. Disabled can also include disabilities that only become apparent in the workplace. An example of this might be where you started work and found that your eyesight was affected by computer screens but had not noticed this problem before you started work. The support package is agreed based on individual need. Young people who start a work placement with an employer as part of the Department for Education supported internship programme or a traineeship will be able to apply for Access to Work support for the time of their work placement only.

Yes, the scheme applies to full-time, part-time, zero-hours employees and apprentices.
